10 Vegan Fashion Brands To Watch in 2022

New year, new wardrobe? Maybe not quite – but if you're in the mood for making some new fashion discoveries this year, you're in luck.

By Sascha Camilli: writer, speaker, activist and vegan fashion expert.

Brands are experimenting with sustainable materials, raising the stakes when it comes to quality, and putting forward designs that are more stylish than ever – from apparel to accessories. If you're up for renewing your style in 2022, we've got all the info on the must-know labels.

Humans Are Vain

Born from a desire to rebel against the fast-fashion industry, Humans Are Vain incorporate materials such as recycled plastic, pineapple leather, and Tencel into their eco-conscious sneaker range. And you won't have to worry about animal-based glues or other smaller components, as 100% of the Humans Are Vain range is vegan and approved by PETA.

 CULTHREAD

Love the look of fur and leather, but don't want to compromise your ethics? CULTHREAD is the answer to your prayers. This label originally focused on faux fur, but has incorporated puffer jackets and vegan leather into their offering. Recycled materials and deadstock feature in their on-trend, eye-catching designs.

Watson & Wolfe

Vegan men's fashion is still an evolving area – and Watson & Wolfe, founded by former leather-goods expert Helen Farr-Leander, is brilliantly filling that gap in the market. Having branched out to also include women's accessories, Watson & Wolfe has the sleek, easy-to-match bags, belts and wallets that all genders will love.

457 Anew

This vegan outerwear brand was born from a striving to unite art with circular economy. Garment label 457 Anew specialises in outwear made from innovative recycled fabrics such as ECONYL (a material made from ocean plastic waste) but also offers resistant, durable accessories such as bags.

Sylven New York

After realising that leather can never be ethically produced, this Stateside shoe label went fully vegan in 2020. Sylven New York craft their ankle boots, sneakers, mules and other conscious designs from planet-friendly apple leather, also incorporating materials such as corn and coconut.

Little By Little

This ethically minded jewellery brand is intent on championing transparent supply chains and empowering those who make their elegant pieces in silver and gold. Their pieces will add a hint of sparkle to daytime looks, or turn up the glamour level on nighttime outfits.

FRIDA ROME

This fully vegan label will speak to your inner edgy rock-chick like nothing else – and if that wasn't enough, the company's eco credentials are on another level. The brand's WEEK/END crossbody bag is made from eco-friendly cactus leather, and locally hand-crafted in the UK. The bag pairs effortlessly with everything from a relaxed denim and knit ensemble to a more high-octane evening look.

Allkind

Your entire shoe wardrobe in one place? It might sound too good to be true, but with Allkind you need to look no further. Ankle boots? Check. Sky-high stilettos? Check. Sneakers, slippers, knee-high boots? Check, check, check. Vegan materials and a planet-conscious approach? Also check: ethical sourcing is key to this brand's processes.

 LUXTRA

If plant leathers are your thing, you might want to add LUXTRA to your shopping list. This brand, which focuses on innovative vegan materials, offers a selection of luxury handbags suitable for daytime, evening, and everything in between. Leather made from pineapples, apples, and cactus are some of the materials that feature in this brand's sophisticated, on-trend collections.

 Charlotte Dunn Design

Style isn't just for going outside. Soft, comfortable and gorgeous pyjamas are one of life's main luxuries. Charlotte Dunn Design makes luxurious sleepwear from vegan bamboo silk – a material that mimics the properties of silk without the cruelty to silkworms or the environmental destruction involved in traditional silk.
