Made in Los Angeles. Vegan & cruelty-free.
Taylor + Thomas is a female-founded, sustainable, cruelty-free, luxury women’s shoe line that is designed in Los Angeles and hand-crafted in Italy. Launched in 2018, their mission is to create luxury footwear that's better for the planet, the animals and your wardrobe.
Taylor + Thomas brings revolutionary ideas and aesthetics to the luxury footwear industry by bridging conscious consumption with elevated taste. Sourcing materials that utilize water molecules, yellow dent (or corn), castor beans, recycled rubber, and FSC-certified wood, Jessica and Elizabeth are working to redefine luxury to mean quality, craftsmanship, and ethics.
About the Founders
Founders Jessica Taylor Mead and Elizabeth Thomas James met in a footwear design class, and the connection was kismet. Not only do they share a common ground on personal styling, but they both recognised the need for the fashion industry to adopt more sustainable and cruelty-free practices. From the carbon emissions, water pollution, and waste production, to the treatment of animals and exploitation of the labour force – they knew they wanted to move above and beyond the fashion industry’s status quo.
Following her studies at Los Angeles’ Otis College of Art and Design as well as Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London, Jessica Taylor Mead spent many years working at the helm of concept design for Joie, Current/Elliott and Equipment.
Elizabeth Thomas James’ career in producing video content for Concord Music Group led her to cross paths with legends including James Taylor, Carole King and Paul Simon. When her years in the business no longer met her creative needs and environmental concerns, she started a new chapter by attending the Otis College of Art and Design, where she reignited earlier days of inspiration, while also meeting her future business partner. Undercurrents of 70s rebellion and freedom of expression are personified with brand muses like Patti Smith, Debbie Harry and Jane Birkin.
“We’re honoured to play a positive part in your world — and your wardrobe.”
The uppers of Taylor + Thomas' shoes are made from a water-based polyurethane (PU), a material free from solvents and chemicals. The lining is made of 50% yellow dent - an inedible and renewable corn (the other 50% is water-based PU).
Suede detailing is made from recycled plastic bottles, while the insoles are crafted from memory foam made from castor beans and recycled rubber. Recycled rubber is also the main material in the outsoles.
The solid-wood heels are made from sustainably harvested beech wood, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
Taylor + Thomas takes pride in working with artisans who are paid fair wages.
Committed to sustainable processes, Taylor + Thomas have partnered with a small ethical family-run, all-vegan, solar-powered factory in Italy, where each of their shoes is crafted by hand. The facility is constantly working on research and development into sustainable production methods.
The insoles are made in a closed-loop factory in Japan, which filters air, recycles water, and ships their products in bags made from stone.
Furthermore, Taylor + Thomas offsets their carbon footprint in all production practices by partnering with NativEnergy, a company offering carbon-offset solutions for businesses. Every season, the brand also donates 1% of proceeds to One Percent for the Planet, an initiative to incentivise companies to donate to environmental schemes.
All of Taylor + Thomas' packaging is made from sustainable materials. The shoes come in dust bags made from upcycled canvas, sourced in downtown Los Angeles. The shoe box itself is made from recycled cardboard and is recyclable. Even the ribbon on the dust bag and box is upcycled, also sourced in downtown LA.
Taylor + Thomas is proud to be a PETA-Approved Vegan brand.
As a marketplace, we sell over 100 beautiful vegan and sustainable brands – but we don’t hold stock, so when you order a product from us, the item gets shipped from the brand itself. This eliminates needless carbon emissions and use of resources from not having to have the item packaged and shipped to us, and then repackaged and shipped out again to the customer; and not having to run major warehouse operations in addition to those of our brands.
If you have purchased multiple items from different brands at the same time, each item will be sent separately and directly from each individual brand.
Immaculate Vegan is therefore not directly responsible for the delivery of items purchased on our site. Responsibility for this is passed to the brand, once the purchase has been made and payment has been collected by us. However, we manage all customer communications, so if you have any issues with delivery of your item, please contact us at email@example.com
Delivery Destinations and Costs
We currently ship to the following territories: Europe, North America (US, Canada, and Mexico), Australia, New Zealand, Israel, UAE, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Note: Each of our brands select which countries in the world they deliver to, and they set their own delivery costs for each country (which will vary). If this is not clearly stated on the individual product page, then you will be able to check in the shopping bag before proceeding to payment.
Our brands also select their own couriers, which may also differ by country.
Delivery and Promotions
If you use a promotional code, the reduction is usually applied only to the price of the product and not the delivery cost.
VAT and Import Duties
All UK and EU orders have VAT already included, so you should not be charged VAT for orders you receive in the UK and EU. However you may be liable for import duties if you order a product from outside the UK and EU, e.g. from the US.
For customers outside of the UK and EU, your order may be subject to VAT and import duties upon arrival into your country, based on where you live.
As the customer, you are responsible for paying any duties that apply in your region. These are government-imposed duties that we have no control over as a retailer. Should you require more information, please contact your local customs office.
Depending on the postal services used by the brand, you will have either an option to pay any additional fees online by following the tracking number available once order is shipped or directly to your courier upon delivery. NB: you will be required to pay any relevant duties before your order will be released to you.
Unfortunately, if you fail to pay any charges and the parcel is returned to sender, we will not be able to refund your order.
Once you have ordered one or more items from Immaculate Vegan, the relevant brand will be immediately notified by Immaculate Vegan. This initiates the processing of your order, and ultimately delivery to you.
We ask our brands to send items to you as quickly and as cost efficiently as possible. Please bear in mind that products ordered from countries far away from your location will likely take longer to get to you.
A delivery confirmation email from Immaculate Vegan will be sent to you as soon as the order has been sent. This email will contain a tracking number and the date the brand dispatched the item.
If you want to know the status of your delivery, please use the tracking number and link in this delivery confirmation email. This is the easiest and quickest way for you to get this information.
If a brand is experiencing a high volume of orders, or other factors such as poor weather or postal strikes, delivery may be delayed by a few days.
If you experience a delivery issue which has not been resolved by the brand, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve this.
Incorrect Address Details
Please ensure your address is completed correctly and a valid phone number is available at order. Immaculate Vegan does not take responsibility for lost or undelivered items if the address is incorrect.
If your order is returned to the brand, the cost of redelivery must be paid before it is despatched again.
Please see our Returns Policy
We hope you love the items you buy from us; we take the utmost care in ensuring our goods are of a high quality. Additionally, as shipping goods has an environmental impact, we hope to minimise returns by giving you as much information as possible about each product.
However, we understand that from time to time things might not be quite what you expected. So here is our policy and instructions if you ever need to return a product:
Immaculate Vegan is a multi-brand marketplace. That means we offer products from different brands based in different countries. So you need to return your item directly to the brand supplier, not to Immaculate Vegan.
If you want to return an item, you need to inform Immaculate Vegan, rather than the brand. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You have 14 days to inform us of your desire to return an item, and then a further 14 days from the date you notify us to send back the item.
All items returned must be in their original condition – unused, unworn, unwashed, in the original packaging and with original labels and any hygiene stickers attached. All beauty products must be unopened, with all seals in place. Unfortunately, our suppliers will not be able to accept any items that fail to meet these criteria.
Many of our suppliers don’t include a returns slip in the package itself for environmental reasons; so if you don't find a returns address and returns information in your package, please don't worry. Just email us at email@example.com, and we will send you a returns slip with the returns address for that brand.
What can be returned?
Any item – regular priced or sale price – may be returned and refunded. This includes items purchased with a promotional or discount code.
However, any custom-made / made to order products cannot be returned and refunded.
If the supplier offers free returns, a Free Post sticker or code will be included in the packaging.
If the supplier does not offer free returns, you are responsible for packaging up the item and posting it back at your own cost. In this instance, we recommend a signed-for delivery with proof of postage.
The exception to this is when the item is faulty, in which case the brand is responsible for paying for costs of returning the item. Please inform us if you receive a faulty item as soon as possible, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any delivery costs or import taxes you may have had to pay to receive an item cannot be refunded by us upon the return of that item.
You are responsible for any item being returned until it arrives back at the supplier.
It is your responsibility to fill out any customs declaration form correctly. When filling in the customs declaration form, please consult with your post office personnel how to declare a return exempt from import duties. Otherwise the brand may be charged customs import taxes, which they will deduct from your refund amount.
Processing your return
Once your returned item is received and inspected, the supplier will notify us, and we will then send you an email confirming this. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If your return is approved, your refund will be processed. We aim to refund you as soon as we can, once your returned item has been processed by the supplier.
We are legally obliged to ensure your money is refunded within 14 working days of receipt of the returned goods in saleable condition.
Please note that original shipping costs are not refundable unless the delivered item is faulty.
Most of our brand partners allow exchanges, although some only offer a return and refund. If you wish to have an exchange, please contact us at email@example.com.
If you have had to pay import duty on a purchase, then you may be able to reclaim that from your local tax office, if you return the goods. Immaculate Vegan is not responsible for any additional customs and taxes applied to an order.
Returns & Damages
Immaculate Vegan is not liable for any items damaged or lost during delivery. If this does occur, please let us know and we will contact the brand and then follow up with you.
Cancellation policy and process
You can cancel an order that you have paid for if it has not yet been dispatched. To do this, please notify us by using the Contact Us form on our website or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you cancel an order that has been dispatched you are obliged to pay the cost of the return shipping. Note: we are unable to refund this or the original shipping fee.
We aim to process your refund within than 5 days of receipt of goods.
Any custom-made or made-to-order products cannot be cancelled.
This policy applies to products purchased from the www.immaculatevegan.com website only.
