Luna Recycled Cotton Rib Knit Dress | Half Moon
The LUNA dress takes a thematic approach to the cyclical nature of our life and surroundings as we understand it — be it lunar, water, carbon, spiritual, mental, physical and so on— and weaves it into a world in which we dress in accordance to our current state.
HALF MOON refers to the Luna in both creamy ivory and deep charcoal-black. The Half Moon represents a changing of tides and seasons within. It is a period of ebbing and flowing and is worn when thoughts pertaining to evolution arrive: “I am growing, evolving, and editing,” “I am letting go of old ways and inviting new routines and strategies in,” ”I am in the midst of action and am building momentum.”
This is a cropped style; hem hits above ankle on 5’4” person and calf on 5’10” person
To ensure garment longevity, hidden elastic is sewn inside the seams to keep the same shape and prevent stretching out over time.

After a thorough investigation of what using recycled material means in all aspects, Taiyo is so very proud to introduce a recycled cotton knit. The mill they chose, Toki Sen, functions on a policy of “symbiosis with nature,” meaning they manufacture with ecological considerations and promotion of oil removal. The mill is a member of BCP (Better Cotton Platform).
They use TSURI knitting machines that move in a slow ticking motion to produce old fashioned, high quality stitches, literally weaving air into the fabric which gives you an incredibly soft and beautiful texture that is impossible to reproduce on modern day machines. This traditional method has been slowly developed over 100+ years with thought and intention and with great attention to detail.
Toki Sen uses “fallen cotton” which means they use old clothing such as secondhand clothing or cutting wastage and return it to a raw cotton form. To do so, they “fluff” the material, meaning a machine breaks the weave of the previously made clothing. The making process of the newly recycled fabric has a very low carbon footprint as the result is a combination of experienced artisan’ skill and the traditional Japanese techniques use and refer to as “slow vintage.”
Additionally, a portion of Taiyo's fabric purchase for the Luna Dress went to Burkina Faso, which contributes to the healthy development of the country through the ethical purchase of cotton grown in Burkina Faso in West Africa. A portion also goes to support medical care and education through the Japan Burkina Faso Friendship Association.
Toki Sen is admirably continuing their journey to live in symbiosis with nature. They are currently working to install solar for in-house power generation.

A philosophy-driven sustainable womenswear brand, Taiyo releases one outfit at a time.
The company's mission is to provide pieces that marry their customers' values with their aesthetic, promoting an intentional way of living.
During her BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute, Katherine Jacobson learned of the extensive impact that the fashion industry has on the planet, which led her to completing a zero-waste collection during her final year. She then worked for several start-ups and started a plant-based food blog, which grew to over 13,000 followers.
The wake-up call came in 2019, when Katherine was recruited to work in design for a popular fast fashion brand. Realising that this would go against her values, she leveraged her experience in the fashion industry to submit her business idea to a small accelerator, and decided that if she got in and won the pitch competition, she would pursue her brand. She did just that, and Taiyo was born in July 2019.
“Taiyo aims to build a community where we help each other realise that we are worthy of speaking our thoughts, a space where we can build ourselves strong to build the world strong.”
Taiyo's collections are made from deadstock fabric and recycled materials.
Taiyo partners with vetted, ethical manufacturers in Los Angeles who are dedicated to fair wages, health and safety, and promoting local economy.
Additionally, a portion of Taiyo's fabric purchase for their Luna Dress was devolved to contributing to the healthy development of the ethical cotton trade in Burkina Faso in West Africa. A portion of profits also goes to support medical care and education through the Japan Burkina Faso Friendship Association.
Taiyo designs with a zero-waste philosophy in mind, ensuring that cutting scraps are kept to an absolute minimum. Any leftover cuttings are recycled. The company also makes sure to offset the carbon emissions generated during shipping.
Taiyo uses fully compostable shipping material.
Animal-friendly vegan materials such as recycled cotton are frequently used in Taiyo's collections.
As a marketplace, we sell over 100 beautiful vegan and sustainable brands – but we don’t hold stock, so when you order a product from us, the item gets shipped from the brand itself. This eliminates needless carbon emissions and use of resources from not having to have the item packaged and shipped to us, and then repackaged and shipped out again to the customer; and not having to run major warehouse operations in addition to those of our brands.
If you have purchased multiple items from different brands at the same time, each item will be sent separately and directly from each individual brand.
Immaculate Vegan is therefore not directly responsible for the delivery of items purchased on our site. Responsibility for this is passed to the brand, once the purchase has been made and payment has been collected by us. However, we manage all customer communications, so if you have any issues with delivery of your item, please contact us at email@example.com
Delivery Destinations and Costs
We currently ship to the following territories: Europe, North America (US, Canada, and Mexico), Australia, New Zealand, Israel, UAE, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Note: Each of our brands select which countries in the world they deliver to, and they set their own delivery costs for each country (which will vary). If this is not clearly stated on the individual product page, then you will be able to check in the shopping bag before proceeding to payment.
Our brands also select their own couriers, which may also differ by country.
Delivery and Promotions
If you use a promotional code, the reduction is usually applied only to the price of the product and not the delivery cost.

Customers based outside the UK and EU may also be liable to pay import duties on shipments arriving from another country.
These will be charged at point of delivery, and payable through the courier.
As the customer, you are responsible for paying any duties that apply in your region. These are government-imposed duties that we have no control over as a retailer. Should you require more information, please contact your local customs office.
Payment of VAT & Import Duties
Depending on courier used by the brand, you will have either an option to pay any additional fees online by following the tracking number available once your order is shipped, or directly to your courier upon delivery. Please note, you will be required to pay any relevant duties before your order will be released to you.
Unfortunately, if you fail to pay any charges and the parcel is returned to sender, we will not be able to refund your order.
Once you have ordered one or more items from Immaculate Vegan, the relevant brand will be immediately notified by Immaculate Vegan. This initiates the processing of your order, and ultimately delivery to you.
We ask our brands to send items to you as quickly and as cost efficiently as possible. Please bear in mind that products ordered from countries far away from your location will likely take longer to get to you.
A delivery confirmation email from Immaculate Vegan will be sent to you as soon as the order has been sent. This email will contain a tracking number and the date the brand dispatched the item.
If you want to know the status of your delivery, please use the tracking number and link in this delivery confirmation email. This is the easiest and quickest way for you to get this information.
If a brand is experiencing a high volume of orders, or other factors such as poor weather or postal strikes, delivery may be delayed by a few days.
If you experience a delivery issue which has not been resolved by the brand, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve this.
Incorrect Address Details
Please ensure your address is completed correctly and a valid phone number is available at order. Immaculate Vegan does not take responsibility for lost or undelivered items if the address is incorrect.
If your order is returned to the brand, the cost of redelivery must be paid before it is despatched again.
Please see our Returns Policy
We hope you love the items you buy from us; we take the utmost care in ensuring our goods are of a high quality. Additionally, as shipping goods has an environmental impact, we hope to minimise returns by giving you as much information as possible about each product.
However, we understand that from time to time things might not be quite what you expected. So here is our policy and instructions if you ever need to return a product:
Immaculate Vegan is a multi-brand marketplace. That means we offer products from different brands based in different countries. So you need to return your item directly to the brand supplier, not to Immaculate Vegan.
If you want to return an item, you need to inform Immaculate Vegan, rather than the brand. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You have 14 days to inform us of your desire to return an item, and then a further 14 days from the date you notify us to send back the item.
All items returned must be in their original condition – unused, unworn, unwashed, in the original packaging and with original labels and any hygiene stickers attached. All beauty products must be unopened, with all seals in place. Unfortunately, our suppliers will not be able to accept any items that fail to meet these criteria.
Many of our suppliers don’t include a returns slip in the package itself for environmental reasons; so if you don't find a returns address and returns information in your package, please don't worry. Just email us at email@example.com, and we will send you a returns slip with the returns address for that brand.
What can be returned?
Any item – regular priced or sale price – may be returned and refunded. This includes items purchased with a promotional or discount code.
However, any custom-made / made to order products cannot be returned and refunded.
If the supplier offers free returns, a Free Post sticker or code will be included in the packaging.
If the supplier does not offer free returns, you are responsible for packaging up the item and posting it back at your own cost. In this instance, we recommend a signed-for delivery with proof of postage.
The exception to this is when the item is faulty, in which case the brand is responsible for paying for costs of returning the item. Please inform us if you receive a faulty item as soon as possible, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any delivery costs or import taxes you may have had to pay to receive an item cannot be refunded by us upon the return of that item.
You are responsible for any item being returned until it arrives back at the supplier.
It is your responsibility to fill out any customs declaration form correctly. When filling in the customs declaration form, please consult with your post office personnel how to declare a return exempt from import duties. Otherwise the brand may be charged customs import taxes, which they will deduct from your refund amount.
Processing your return
Once your returned item is received and inspected, the supplier will notify us, and we will then send you an email confirming this. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If your return is approved, your refund will be processed. We aim to refund you as soon as we can, once your returned item has been processed by the supplier.
We are legally obliged to ensure your money is refunded within 14 working days of receipt of the returned goods in saleable condition.
Please note that original shipping costs are not refundable unless the delivered item is faulty.
Most of our brand partners allow exchanges, although some only offer a return and refund. If you wish to have an exchange, please contact us at email@example.com.
If you have had to pay import duty on a purchase, then you may be able to reclaim that from your local tax office, if you return the goods. Immaculate Vegan is not responsible for any additional customs and taxes applied to an order.
Returns & Damages
Immaculate Vegan is not liable for any items damaged or lost during delivery. If this does occur, please let us know and we will contact the brand and then follow up with you.
Cancellation policy and process
You can cancel an order that you have paid for if it has not yet been dispatched. To do this, please notify us by using the Contact Us form on our website or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you cancel an order that has been dispatched you are obliged to pay the cost of the return shipping. Note: we are unable to refund this or the original shipping fee.
We aim to process your refund within than 5 days of receipt of goods.
Any custom-made or made-to-order products cannot be cancelled.
This policy applies to products purchased from the www.immaculatevegan.com website only.
