Ecowings
This brand manufactures in the EU. As a result of EU/UK free trade agreements, there are no import duties on delivery to the UK or to any EU country. US customers do not pay any import duties on orders below $800.
Using recycled materials in innovative ways, Ecowings creates durable, eco-conscious vegan bags and accessories. It's hard to imagine that the brand's creations are made from old truck tyres and truck inner tubes – this creative use of discarded materials has earned the brand a dedicated fanbase.
Founders
Kapil and Uma Sharma founded the brand in India. The label was born from Kapil's passion for upcycling, innovation and traditional artisanship. While Kapil is responsible for product development and design, Uma, who holds a master's degree in HR management and marketing, is responsible for management, finances and logistics. The team is also joined by Angela Rooijmans, whose mission it is to champion local enterprise in India. She is dedicated to developing the brand's profile in Europe.
“We consider tyre tube material to be a perfect alternative for leather: it is strong, waterproof, and every piece has its own texture.”
