Born from a spontaneous idea over a cup of coffee at a local coffee shop, Amour Linen is a sustainable home linen brand founded in 2019. Today, the brand has branched out beyond locally made homeware and also produces handmade apparel in linen. It is certified by OEKO-TEX, and donates to charities helping the people of Ukraine deal with the horrors of war.

Founder

Lukas Ezerskis wanted to do something to put his home country of Lithuania on the map. He had also always been passionate about sustainable textiles. He launched Amour Linen shortly before the pandemic – and Lukas and his team didn't let the unexpected crisis slow down their goals. Today, the brand has expanded to new product categories and is stronger than ever.

“We are very vocal about our stances on living wage and modern slavery, and strive to set a great example for other businesses in the industry.”

Materials

Amour Linen focuses on linen fabrics sourced locally in Europe. Flax, the fibre that linen is made from, is kind to the environment – it doesn't need much water to grow, and the process of weaving it into linen isn't energy-intensive.

People

The brand's employees are paid above average salaries, plus bonuses and four weeks paid leave every year. The company also puts a lot of effort into providing learning and development opportunities. Happy workers is a priority for Amour Linen.

Production

Amour Linen's items are handmade in Lithuania. The flax is woven in Kaunas and then shipped to Vilnius. The company makes sure all local laws are followed, and that health and safety instructions are complied with. The brand uses machinery that is updated and safe, and makes sure that facilities are comfortable and fully equipped with electricity, water, heating, kitchen facilities, coffee machines, and break rooms.

Packaging

Recycled paper is used in all Amour Linen packaging.
