Founder
Charlie McEvoy has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, constantly seeking inspiration and new ideas. After going vegan, they were looking for a way to spread the message about compassionate living in a way that wasn't too "in your face". A lover of streetwear with a background in graphic design, McEvoy decided to create their own streetwear brand.
Materials
Around 90% of Plant Faced Clothing's offering is made with sustainable materials such as organic cotton or recycled fibres. In addition, the garments are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard and the OEKO-Tex standard, which ensures that the materials are tested for harmful substances. The brand is PVC-free. All garments are printed using eco-friendly water-based vegan inks.
Production
Plant Faced Clothing's collections are made in Bangladesh. Production takes place in small batches to avoid waste, and the brand is working towards full transparency in their supply chain.
People
The brand works with Fair Wear- or WRAP-certified facilities. These independent non-profit organisations are dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing through certification and education. They ensures that all employees are paid a fair wage, able to work acceptable hours in a safe working environment and are of a minimum age requirement to be working.
Animals
Plant Faced Clothing is a 100% vegan brand, which is clearly expressed in their messaging.
Charity donations
The company plants a tree for every item sold in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects, and donates to several animal charities.
Packaging
All Plant Faced Clothing orders are packaged in recyclable kraft paper mailer boxes, without the individual bags that many clothing brands use.
