These are the most frequently asked questions about vegan heels:

Vegan heels typically are made from synthetic materials such as polyurethane and polyester, but increasingly plant-based leathers such as cactus, apple, cork and grape leather are used to give a more authentic and comfortable feel – and to minimise environmental impact.

A simple way to clean vegan suede heels is to apply a rubbing alcohol to any stains using a cloth. Apply the alcohol on stains using a soft brush. Even a toothbrush would work! Stains that are harder to remove need to be blotted with a cloth to be lifted out of the fabric. Use a dry cloth to lightly wipe any dust or dirt off. With soapy water and a cloth, gently clean the material. Do not submerge your shoes – this could cause irreversible damage. Let your shoes dry away from direct sunlight, and once they are dry, apply a small amount of polishing cream using a dry, soft cloth. Rub the cream sparingly over your shoes in a circular motion until it is fully absorbed. Leave your shoes to dry naturally for 24 hours and they'll be good to go! You can stretch vegan leather heels but they are unlikely to get more than half a size larger. To stretch them, wear them around the home with thicker socks to break them in. You can then use a hairdryer while keeping them on your feet to shape them to your feet. Alternatively, use a leather-stretching spray or conditioner oil which will help soften the material and stretch it out.
