This Australian brand was launched with the desire to merge high-end, stylish footwear with ethical and sustainable practices. Comfort is priority, alongside ethical design – but style is never compromised.

Founder

After working in shoe design for almost 25 years, committed vegan Irene Brown created her own brand of ethically made, vegan shoes that didn’t sacrifice on comfort and style. Brown is currently completing a Certificate IV in Custom-Made Footwear at RMIT University in Australia, focusing on combining craftsmanship with innovative design techniques.

Materials

ə'serdiv works with AppleSkin, a vegan leather made with over 66% bio-based content sourced from apple juice industry waste. This innovative material is complemented by insoles crafted using Super Critical Foaming technology, which minimises environmental impact by reducing chemical use and energy consumption.

Production

Production takes place in China. Suppliers undergo annual SMETA audits performed by Sedex -one of the world’s leading ethical trade organisations. The brand has full transparency over their supply chain.

People

Sedex assess the labour standards, health and safety, environmental performance, and ethical conduct of our partners. Workers are paid above the living wage, and suppliers comply with local labour laws regarding salaries, social benefits, working hours, conditions, and insurance.

Packaging

All products are packaged in FSC-certified shoeboxes made from recycled cardboard, ensuring that the materials are sustainably sourced and contribute to forest conservation. This box also serves as a shipping box. The shoes are wrapped in FSC-certified tissue paper and protected with 100% recyclable and compostable bubble wrap alternative - Hex paper. The boxes are also sealed with water-activated tape that uses a natural potato starch adhesive, which is fully recyclable and biodegradable. All labels used for shipping and branding are FSC Certified and BPA Free, industrially compostable and printed with an ink-free thermal printer.
