SBTRCT Skincare

Skincare brand SBTRCT (pronounced “subtract”) was founded in 2020 based on one guiding principle; less is more. The idea that by stripping out the things we don’t need in life, we are more able to love the things we’ve made a conscious choice to keep. SBTRCT’s mission is to offer the highest-performing expert skincare with the lowest amount of environmental waste. The brand has won awards at the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards, as well as the Beauty Shortlist Awards.

Founder

SBTRCT’s founder Ben Grace has 20 years of award-winning experience in skincare and fragrance. Formerly MD of Bulldog Skincare, with a legacy of building disruptive brands, Ben’s passion lies in sustainability, product innovation and design. Creating his own range of skincare has always been an ambition and SBTRCT is the result. 

Ingredients

SBTRCT's innovative and expertly formulated skincare is made using ingredients such as squalane, glycerin, vitamin C and retinoids to deliver premium results in a concentrated solid state, negating the need for water-based formulations and palm oil. The ingredients are sourced as locally as possible. 

People

All workers in SBTRCT's supply chain are paid a living wage.

Production

The company's skincare is made in the UK, and all accessories (dishes and pots) are made in China. SBTRCT products contain no added water to avoid the water waste often connected with the beauty industry.

Packaging

SBTRCT is a plastic-free brand, packaging their products in certified compostable card cartons.

Animals

This company is 100% vegan, and also stands against animal testing through their Cruelty-Free International certification.
