Founder

After 15 years in the fashion industry, James Malysz was tired of disposable fashion. With a desire to create a streetwear brand that gave back - to the planet and to the community – James created a label that gave its customers a high-quality, minimal aesthetic focused on self-expression through colour. 

Materials

Organic cotton is front and centre in Hewn's offering. The printing ink is OEKO-Tex certified.

Production

Production takes place in Bangladesh, with the garments then finished in the UK. Hewn's garments are made to order, allowing the brand to reduce waste. Hewn's partner factories use modern manufacturing techniques to minimise textile waste. The garment dyes are cleansed from the water used for the dying process before the clean water is put back into the local environment. 

People

All workers in the supply chain are paid a national living wage.

Charity donations

Unsold designs are donated to homelessness and poverty charity Mustard Tree.

Animals

Hewn is a PETA-Approved Vegan brand.

Packaging

Hewn works with fully recyclable packaging made from sugarcane, which offsets the carbon production footprint as it grows.
