One of the only brands in the sportswear arena to use recycled materials, Plant Athletic is also a fully vegan company. This high-performance brand aims to transform sportswear through a focus on sustainable, non-toxic products that never compromise on quality.

Founder

Serial entrepreneur, TEDx speaker and plant-powered Ironman All World triathlete Pat McAuley started Plant Athletic with a desire to compete in more consciously sourced gear that could stand toe to toe with the top brands in sports when it came to performance.

Materials

Recycled materials take up a lot of space in Plant Athletic's collection. From recycled polyester to recycled elastane and polyamide, materials used by the brand are certified by the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, the Global Recycling Standard, and Bluesign Approved (meaning that safer chemicals are used in the process), as well as PETA-Approved Vegan. The brand is also experimenting with bio-based materials for future ranges.

Production

Manufacturing takes place in Italy and China. The brand visits the factories to ensure ethical production.

People

The company has a fair labour policy and all workers are paid a national living wage.

Animals

Plant Athletic is the only PETA-Approved Vegan brand in elite endurance sports.

Packaging

No plastic wrapping, product bags or tags are used – with the aim to minimise waste. The items are shipped in a HERO Packaging mailer made from cornstarch and compostable polymers.
