Materials
The Biayna brand works with plant-derived leathers such as Desserto's cactus leather and Vegea leather made from wine grapes. The benefits of these leathers include protection of biodiversity, water savings, and environmental preservation through chemical-free cultivation. Recycled polyester is also used for the lining. Materials are sourced from Italy, Mexico, and China.
Production
Biayna's designs are manufactured in China. The company optimises material usage to reduce waste, as well as aims to repurpose waste. The brand also makes sure that their manufacturing team upholds ethical labour practices. Biayna is also exploring possibilities for local manufacturing in Mexico and Italy to limit transport-related emissions.
People
Fair wages, safe working conditions, and opportunities for growth are prioritised in the brand's supply chain. All employees are paid a national living wage. The brand also remains in communication with their suppliers to ensure fair wages and ethical conditions are maintained.
Animals
Biayna is a PETA-Approved Vegan brand.
Packaging
Compostable paper and organic cotton are used in the brand's packaging. Biodegradable materials are prioritised and packaging is kept minimal where possible.
